Blogging Rebuttal Please

Some truly idiotic person implied and later on said that blogs are devilishly pointless.

I respect the person for sharing that profound opinion. That person might even win an honorary mark for goodwill, probably to warn people, like him or her who:

1. Have used blogs and actually got burned.
2. Have something hideously nasty to hide
3. Have plainly NO interest in writing and reading anything (highly acceptable)

POINT NUMBER 1: HAVE USED AND GOT BURNED BY BLOGS

If you would refer to my previous post, Blogging about Blogs, I've stated that the blogosphere is so accessible, so free and immense that it wields too much power and responsibility. Unfortunately some people are not "mature" enough to use this certain medium. Blogs are out there to either express one's ideas, may it be in a format of an online social network journal, or something academic or corporate. The fact is, bloggers are out there doing what they do best, which is to disseminate information of various kinds. Information to be blogged blog should either come from the deepest reservoir of their opinions, of their knowledge and of their experiences. Therefore whatever they post, shouldn't be half-baked and should always have the foundation of INTEGRITY.

The matter of Sharing is another different factor. If you blog about something, it will be read. It might be passed on, and so this is where responsibility and integrity take into shape. Sharing information that you know has value shouldn't be laborious if you put integrity to it. Sharing about an opinion, an experience and about life is not an unfortunate thing if done right. Why in the world would you share something online if you're don't want people to read it or get a chance to interpret it? Also, blogging is an avenue to share, to preserve and to celebrate every bits and pieces of "life," and not to replicate it. (Like some people think)

So naturally, those who blog or who have been bashed by blogs have experienced the burning powers of it. I just feel sorry for those incidents. It shouldn't be that way in the first place. Probably there is also a need for self-reflection on one's part to see if values are definitely credited or some loose strings have already gone haywire. It's a law of cause and effect, the ancient law of Reaction. Some people stand by it because they have nothing to hide, nothing to fear and their bones built up by integrity. Some may try to wield and taunt it, but eventually get burned. But it's not enough to justify this avenue as pointless.

Example case: chikatime.com closed down because it cannot stand by it's bashings and there was lacking of integrity and format.

POINT 2: HAVE SOMETHING NASTY TO HIDE

Of course when someone has something very nasty to hide because he or she did something way beyond the understanding of a logical human being, they hide and recuperate to redeem themselves. It's natural. They have to hide because their intergrity have been shamed and it cannot hold themselves anymore. They have made a certain mistake and try to leave the world of blogosphere permanently or temporarily. Sometimes they go back in a different format, hopefully in a better understanding how blogs work for them.

POINT 3: HAVE NO INTEREST IN WRITING AND READING...BLOGS or ANYTHING

This is completely understandable. Some people just don't like writing or reading anything. They don't see the point. That's their personalities. They may express their ideas and emotions in other things; and ultimately there's no room for explanation here. It's a fact of life.

I'm not out here to primarily defend blogs, although it looks like I'm defending it already. But I must admit that some blogs are really stupid and have gotten haywire. If a person has no basic understanding of the power and freedom of blogs, then it's not entirely a world for him or her to enjoy. If a person also has not reached a certain level of maturity or integrity to match the "requirements" in maintaining and reading blogs, then he or she will just simply have a hard time surviving the world called blogosphere. And that's that. Devilishly Pointless? In my opinion, I don't really think so.
